  • DVD/Blue Ray Discs - Cross Media convergence and because of technological convergence there is other ways to watch and interact with The Jungle Book such as streaming services, online, gaming
  • There is also a clear pattern of production, distribution and circulation that can be easily distinguished and is a film production from a major studio - DISNEY - which is one of the biggest media conglomerate in the world
  • The Jungle Book in 2016 is a significant media product - one of the most successful films of all time and has taken over $100 Billion - it was also given a second life on DVD and Video 

Differences between the Original and the Remake:

1967:
  •  Animation - Hand Drawn 
  • Advertised mainly through posters and billboards 
  • Rated U -  the movie was happier and lighthearted
2016:
  • CGI - Computer Generated Imaging 
  • Used social media and the internet to advertise
  • Rated PG - darker than the original to appeal to a more adult audience  
  • Reliant on Celebrity endorsement 

There were two types of advertisements that they used:

ATL - obvious advertising - trailers, TV, Radio, etc 
BLT - subliminal messaging - add on - not actual film - synergy - interviews
